Have you noticed the combines out in the fields lately? I
t’s a wonderful time of year! This is harvest time!
Someone once said, “A man’s harvest in life depends entirely upon the seeds he has sown.”
If you aren’t happy with your life, examine the seed you have been sowing.
I love the teaching on “The Sower” found in Mark the 4th chapter.
The truth is, we are all sowing seed everyday of our lives.
Our thoughts are seed.
Our words are seed.
Our actions are seed.
Our money is seed.
Our time is seed.
We have opportunity to sow seed at every turn.
When a seed leaves your hand, it never leaves your life.
It goes into your future.My seed is the only instruction my future obeys.
Soil is as important as seed.
We must be very discerning about the soil we sow our seed into and also about the soil of our own hearts.
The Word of God will always produce on good soil—thirty, sixty, and even a hundred fold.
It’s our choice what we want to cultivate in order to produce.
God will never do anything without 3 things: Faith, Love and Seed. He teaches us to do the same.
He tells us that it is impossible to please him without faith. He tells us our faith will only work by love.
And lastly, he teaches us that if we have a need, sow a seed!
I’ve always taught my kids as they were growing up to sow a seed to meet their need (in addition to their faithful tithe).
Mom and Dad might not always be able to come through for them, but God promises that he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
They’ve experienced it time and time again and continue to do so in their adult lives.
In the book of Acts the 10th chapter there was a devout man named Cornelius who feared God and was quite a giver and also a prayer warrior.
He saw in a vision one day the Lord saying to him, “Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.”
His prayer was heard and his giving caused him to be remembered in the sight of God. It really made an impact!
Prayer plus giving is quite a memorable combination.
It will get God’s attention every time because so few people really believe that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and go out on a limb for Him.
God so much wants to bless us beyond measure, but we won’t believe the love He has for us. Yes, it is true! When God asks us for a seed, He has a harvest on His mind.
